Basic STCW-95 Safety Courses
Before being assigned to any shipboard duties, or seafarers that are engaged in any capacity on board, needs to complete the STCW-95 training which will teach them to stay alive during any type of emergency which may occur at sea.
These courses consist of the following: Elementary First Aid at Sea, Marine Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention and Personal Safety and Social Responsibility with Personal Survival Techniques. This training is given in accordance with STCW-95, Tables A-VI/1-3, A-VI/1 and 4 of the code. (Three separate STCW certificates)
REQUIREMENTS
Competence will be evaluated on continuous assessment and on completion of each module of the course, learners will be issued with a certificate of completion.
Learners are requested to bring along their ID/Passport and a pen on day one of the course.
Duration: 7 days – from Monday through to the Sunday, throughout the year)

Auxiliary Staff Familiarization
Those Persons going to work on Cruise Ships STCW-95 CODE A-VI/1 and A-V/3 Para 1,2,3,and 4
This Three day Auxiliary Personnel Familiarization course is mandatory for all persons going to work on a Cruise Liner in accordance with STCW-95 Code and the South African Code of Maritime Qualifications. This course is run by a qualified, practicing Ship’s Safety/Environmental Officer from the Royal Caribbean Cruise lines.
REQUIREMENTS
Competence will be evaluated on continuous assessment and on completion of this module of the course, learners will be issued with a certificate of competence.
Learners are requested to bring along their ID/Passport and a pen on day one of the course.
Duration: 3 days - (Every Friday to Sunday, throughout the year.)

First Aid At Sea
First Aid at Sea meets the requirements of STCW-95 Code A-VI/4-1 and the South African Code of Maritime Qualifications. This course is run by a qualified, practicing paramedical instructor.
REQUIREMENTS
Competence will be evaluated on continuous assessment and on completion of this course, learners will be issued with a certificate of competence. Learners are requested to bring along their ID/Passport and a pen on day one of the course.
Duration: 4 days - (Every Monday to Thursday, throughout the year.)
Course Fee: R1250-00 per learner

Ship's Captain Medical
Person in-charge of medical care on board ship (STCW-95 CODE A-VI/4-2) Person in-charge of medical care on board ship meets the requirement of STCW Code A-VI/4-2 and the South African Code of Maritime Qualifications.
These courses are run by a qualified, practicing Paramedic Instructor. Cruise Ships.
REQUIREMENTS
All learners applying for this course MUST be able to produce an IN-DATE
First Aid at Sea Certificate. Competence will be evaluated on continuous assessment and on completion of this course, learners will be issued with a certificate of completion. Learners are requested to bring along their ID/Passport and a pen on day one of the Course.
Duration: 6 days - (Every Monday to Friday – Plus one night in trauma)

Pre-Sea Familiarisation
STCW-95 CODE A-VI/1
This Two day Pre-Sea Familiarisation course is mandatory for all persons going to sea for the first time in accordance with STCW-95 Code and the South African Code of Maritime Qualifications.
REQUIREMENTS
Competence will be evaluated on continuous assessment and on completion of this module of the course, learners will be issued with a certificate of competence. Learners are requested to bring along their ID/Passport and a pen on day one of the course.
Duration: 2 days - (Every Saturday and Sunday, throughout the year.)

Personal Safety and Social Responsibility
This two day safety induction course is mandatory for all new crew members in accordance with STCW-95 Code A-VI/1 and the South African Code of Maritime Qualifications.

Competence will be evaluated on continuous assessment and on completion of this module of the course, learners will be issued with a certificate of competence. Learners are requested to bring along their ID/Passport and a pen on day one of the course.

Profociency in Liferafts
The requirements of the South African Code of Maritime Qualifications and the Merchant Shipping (Training and Certification) Regulations 1999. This three day course is mandatory for all skippers of vessels more than nine meters in length and that have commercial endorsements.
REQUIREMENTS
Competence will be evaluated on continuous assessment and on completion of this module of the course, learners will be issued with a certificate of competence. Learners are requested to bring along their ID/Passport and a pen on day one of the
course.
SEA-TIME: Must produce proof of having served at sea in any capacity for a period of not less than six months. This may be in the form of a letter from an employer and should provide as much detail of the sea service as possible.
Duration: 3 days - (Every Saturday to Monday, throughout the year.)

Marine Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention
STCW Code A-VI/1-2
The Marine Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention courses are run over a three day time Frame at our fire ground in Belhar.
REQUIREMENTS
Competence will be evaluated on continuous assessment and on completion of this course the learner will be issued with a certificate of competence. All learners are requested to bring along their ID/Passport and a pen on day one of the course.
Duration: 3 days - (Normally Wednesday to Friday of every week throughout the year)
Course Fee: R1950-00 per learner

Advanced Marine Fire Fighting
STCW Code A-VI/1-3
The Advanced Marine Fire Fighting courses are run over a three day time frame at our fire ground in Belhar.
REQUIREMENTS
All Learners applying for this course MUST be able to produce an IN-DATE Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention Certificate. Competence will be evaluated on continuous assessment and on completion of this course the learner will be issued with a
certificate of competence. All learners are requested to bring along their ID/Passport and a pen on day one of the course.
Duration: 3 days - (Normally Wednesday to Friday of every week throughout the year)
